Who we are
decorwithstyle ("we", "us") publishes home decor stories, makeovers and product recommendations at decorwithstyle.blog. This policy explains what information is collected when you visit, why, and the choices you have. Questions: hello@decorwithstyle.blog.
Information we collect
Information you give us: your email address if you subscribe to the Sunday Letter or create a reader account, the preferences, feedback and boards you add to your account, and anything you include if you email us.
Information collected automatically: like most websites, our servers and the services below receive technical data such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, the page that referred you and approximate location derived from your IP address.
We do not ask for or knowingly collect sensitive information, and we do not sell your email address.
Analytics
We count page views, how far articles are read and clicks on shop links with our own cookieless analytics. It stores nothing on your device. To count unique readers we keep a short hash of your IP address and browser that changes every day and cannot be traced back to you; the IP address itself is never stored. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, you are not counted at all.
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which stories are read and how people find us. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland it only sets analytics cookies after you agree. You can opt out anywhere with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Advertising
We show ads served by Google AdSense to keep the site free. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and to measure how ads perform.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and other sites. You can turn off personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies at aboutads.info and, in the EU, youronlinechoices.eu.
Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland see a consent message from Google (a certified consent management platform) and can accept, reject or customise ad and analytics cookies. You can change your choice at any time from the Privacy settings link in the footer.
Affiliate links
Some product links are affiliate links, including links to Amazon. When you click one, the retailer may set a cookie to attribute a purchase to us and pay us a commission. This does not change the price you pay. We do not receive your payment or order details. See our affiliate disclosure for details.
Newsletter
If you subscribe, we store your email address and when and where you signed up, and use it only to send the Sunday Letter. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to delete your address. Our emails (the newsletter and sign-in links) are delivered by our email provider, Resend, which processes your address only to deliver them.
Reader accounts and feedback
You can create a free reader account with just your email address. We email you a one-time sign-in link instead of using a password. Your account holds your email, an optional display name, the decorating preferences you choose (styles, rooms and budget range), your feedback (helpful votes, comments, product ratings and whether you would buy or own a product) and the articles and products you save to your boards. We use this to improve our stories and recommendations for you and other readers; it is not shared with advertisers or sold.
Comments and ratings are read by our editors and may be summarised (never with your email address) when we update an article. If you vote on whether a story was helpful without signing in, we store the vote with the same daily-changing hash used for analytics, so we can stop repeated votes without knowing who you are.
You can change your preferences, delete boards or delete your whole account (with its feedback and boards) at any time from your account page.
Cookies and similar storage
If you sign in to a reader account, we set one essential cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. It is removed when you sign out. Besides that and the advertising and analytics cookies above, the site stores a few preferences in your browser, such as light or dark mode and whether you have dismissed the newsletter card. These never leave your device. You can clear cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe and the UK, or US state laws such as California's CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain uses, to withdraw consent, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information or targeted advertising.
To use these rights, email hello@decorwithstyle.blog. To limit personalized ads, use the Privacy settings link in the footer or Google Ads Settings. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Data retention and security
We keep newsletter data until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, and reader account data until you delete your account or ask us to. Unused sign-in links expire after 20 minutes. Analytics data is kept for the period set in Google Analytics (14 months). Our servers use encrypted HTTPS connections, and access to stored data is restricted.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes. The date below shows the latest revision. Last updated: October 19, 2026.
